Pro Bono Representation

As Colorado attorneys, we take an oath of admission. In pertinent part, this oath affirms that:

I will use my knowledge of the law for the betterment of society and the improvement of the legal system; I will never reject, from any consideration personal to myself, the cause of the defenseless or oppressed

"Access to Justice" is a critical issue in the United States. Indeed, recent studies have shown that there is an Access to Justice Crisis in America. On an annual basis, 55 million Americans face 260 million legal issues. Approximately 120 million of these problems are not resolved in a way that is perceived as fair. This is largely the result of many Americans being unable to adequately afford legal representation. In the state of Colorado, over 175,000 cases were filed where one or both parties represented themselves without legal counsel.

As attorneys, we need to do better to solve this crisis and to provide indigent and low income Americans with legal representation. While the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct provides that each attorney should aspire to provide at least 50 hours of pro bono legal services per year, most attorneys fall well short of this goal.

At Hollington Law Firm, LLC, we are committed to serving those in our community who are of limited means. Every year, we dedicate both our time and our resources to helping indigent and lower income Coloradans with a variety of legal issues. We are always willing to accept worthy causes for honest and sincere clients, no matter what their level of means is.

Though this list is not exclusive, following are a few areas of law that we may provide representation to clients on a pro bono, "low bono", or contingency fee basis:

If you find yourself in need of legal counsel and without the means to hire an attorney, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We cannot accept every case because we are a small law firm. Having said that, we will do our best to live up to the oath that we swore as attorneys. If we cannot accept your case, we will do our best to put you in contact with another attorney or a great Denver legal aid clinic that may be able to assist you.
